Khao Sok National Park – Thailand’s Hidden Emerald Paradise
Khao Sok National Park, located in southern Thailand's Surat Thani province, is one of the country's most breathtaking and biologically diverse natural reserves. Covering over 738 square kilometers, the park is home to the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, even older than the Amazon. Its dramatic landscape features towering limestone karsts, lush jungle canopies, cascading waterfalls, and the jaw-dropping Cheow Lan Lake, a turquoise reservoir created by the Ratchaprapha Dam.
This unspoiled paradise offers visitors the chance to truly disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. Wildlife enthusiasts will find Khao Sok teeming with exotic animals such as gibbons, hornbills, wild elephants, langurs, and even the elusive Malayan tapir. The park is also famous for the rare and massive Rafflesia flower, which blooms once a year and can reach a diameter of nearly a meter.
Adventure awaits around every corner: longtail boat cruises, bamboo rafting, jungle trekking, cave exploration, kayaking, and wildlife safaris are just a few of the unforgettable experiences you can enjoy here. Whether you’re exploring deep rainforest trails or gliding across the mirror-like waters of Cheow Lan Lake, every moment in Khao Sok National Park is one of awe and connection.
